The aim of this course is to achieve believable and authentic acting by removing the burden of self-critique from the actor’s efforts. Certain exercises and techniques will guide the actor to being, living, and creating in the moment-to-moment unfolding Dramatic Action. Participants will learn tools of script analysis, to step outside the river of drama, to be able to then be creative in their character and scene work that best serve the story. They will learn fundamental tools from the Stanislavsky system, some exercises from Michael Chekhov’s approach, and other exercises developed at Luke Lehner’s studio.
